I’m Amirtha, a fashion designer currently based in Bengaluru. I’m studying Knitwear Design at NIFT, Bengaluru and spent a year in New York, where I earned my Associate’s degree in Fashion Business Management at FIT. 

Design, for me, has always been about curiosity—about observing things closely and making something honest out of what I notice. I didn’t grow up dreaming of moodboards or runways. I just liked how fabric moved, how texture could say something, how small details could carry meaning.
That’s why I’m drawn to knitwear and lingerie. There’s an intimacy to them—a kind of quiet complexity that I find grounding. They’re close to the body, personal, and full of intention. I like creating pieces that feel thoughtful and lived in—things you want to keep close.

I believe fashion doesn’t need to be loud to make a point. It just needs to feel real—to mean something. That’s the kind of work I want to keep creating.
